breast

i went docs last week over nipple turning flat and breast sagging more and looking a bit swollen they said not to worry about it but now tonight when i lift my arm up right in the middle of nipple the nipple seems to go in a little i am worried

Hi
This used to happen with my nipple and i went to see my GP who although could not feel a lump referred me to the Breast Clinic under the 2 week system.
Lucky for me as I was diagnosed with Lobular Breast Cancer which had already spread to my lymph nodes.
That was in Feb 08 and I had mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy followed by breast reconstruction in March 2010.
Am feeling good and am now on Arimidex for 5 years.
Please go back to your GP and get referred to put your mind at rest.
All the best
Sue xx

JC, definitely go back and ask to be referred, as Sue says even if only to put your mind at rest. Please don’t imagine that Sue’s experiences have to be repeated in your own case though, remember that it’s a BREAST clinic not a CANCER clinic, and that around 8 out of 10 referrals to the breast clinic turn out NOT to be cancer at all, but other benign breast conditions, many of which need no treatment at all.

Please go and get yourself checked, then come and tell us the good news.

Hi I agree with sue,go back and ask to be referred to breast clinic.I had flat nipple and it sort of dented in when I raised my arm couldn’t actually feel a definite lump just felt a bit different to other breast(if that makes sense)my GP said it didn’t present as breast cancer. You know your body and if this feels different for you then push to get it checked and if it turns out to be nothing you’ll have peace of mind.

Best wishes Melxx
