In my stupidity and stunned state I forgot to ask the doctor crucially is it safe for my baby for me still to breastfeed her.
I guess I must now start the weaning process but breastfed my son till he was 2 and just wanted to do the same for her. I love feeding her and our closeness.
I’ve just been to dr’s where he confirmed my lump and has issued a referral.
Does anyone know?
Hi Elbie
Welcome to our forums, I am sure you will find them a great support. As you haven’t had a diagnosis and not on any treatment, I am sure it will be fine to continue breastfeeding your daughter. However, do give our helpline a call - they will be able to offer further support and information and, they’re great listeners.
The number is 0808 800 6000. They are open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 9-2 on Saturday.
Kind regards

My lump was found when breastfeeding. You dont need to stop until it is confirmed as cancer. It is probably benign and that would be a huge shame to stop. I fed my first for 12mths but had to stop at 8mths this time cos of my cancer diagnosis.
Good luck!
I think it would do both of you the world of good to carry on -I was unable to breastfeed one daughter, but managed with the next until she was two, and there was a huge huge benefit health wise to breastfeeding. It gives you such a good feeling too and that is what you need right now
Relax and love the moment
