Hi espana25
I had 5 sessions on my left. When the oncologist advised I would need to breath hold for up to 30 seconds, I started practising at home. By the time I had my ct planning, I found it fairly easy.
The machine will stop and restart if you do breathe during the session, so dont worry too much.
Best wishes x

Hi Espana25

I had the same as poorlyboob. I found practicising as much as you can really helped you’ll become a pro! I counted and as stated above machine will automatically stop if breath taken in session. I found Radiologists were so kind and patient and will make you feel at ease
Best of luck ! x

I found practising at home helped me feel more confident when having it, the time they need you to hold it for really isn’t long at all but I think it was probably more of a confidence thing for me especially going through an unfamiliar procedure x

I totally agree! I have had 4 sessions and it’s going well so not so anxious. I have the snorkel and nose clip, button to press. Anyone who has to do this and is worried, please don’t. It doesn’t matter if you don’t hold your breath etc on time, the staff are great, patient and understanding.
