Ca 15.3 is increasing!

Hi! 1 year ago i was diagnose with MBC in my neck (lymph nodes). I am in Ribociclib, at the begining Ca 15.3 was stable but since septembre 2024 it started to increase, like 6 point each month… right now its in 78 and it started 1 year ago in 50. On December 2024 I had ct scans that showed a good response (some of the lymph nodes desaperded in my mediastine and my armpit… neck is stable). But despite it, Ca 15.3 continues to increase. Have you ever heared any case like mine? it could be “normal”?. Thank you!

Hi colombianwarrior,

Thanks for posting.

It’s understandable that you are concerned about the increase in CA15-3 tumour marker. It’s not clear how reliable the measurement of blood tumour markers is. This is because they can be raised for different reasons, such as other benign (not cancer) health conditions, and results can fluctuate. When used, tumour markers are a very small part of monitoring your condition and are not often used on their own to make decisions about starting or changing treatment. Your treatment team will be guided by your scan results and any symptoms, as well as the trend in tumour marker results.
