Calivasertib side effects

Hi. I haven’t posted much on here lately but my first line of treatment (Palbociclib and Letrazole was shown to have stopped working in March and I have started with Fulvestrant and am about to start Calivasertib this week. I have read too much probably about the side effects and would be grateful if anyone who is taking or has taken this combination could tell me how they are getting on with it and how to cope with some of the side effects. I am quite nervous about it and not overjoyed by what I have read and hope there are some happier stories to be told.

Many thanks

Hi @DeeBee1982,

You might have already read it, but we have some information about Calivasertib on our website here: Capivasertib (Truqap) - side effects and more | | Breast Cancer Now

You are looking for others to share their experience, so hopefully some other users can come back to you, and my replying will bump your post so someone is more likely to see it

Thank you. I am incredibly anxious about changing to this drug. and have meetings with a pharmacy team and with my bcn to discuss. I would just like to hear how others have got on with it (or not).

I he had my second Fulvestrant injection this week and am on my third week of Capivasertib. I was absolutely dreading it but apart from slight diarrhoea on 2 days that was quickly remedied with a couple of loperamide tablets I’ve been absolutely fine. Over time side effects may occur, but hoping that the medication works and that it is tolerable.

Thank you for replying. I have now had 3 lots of Fulvestrant and am in my first week of Capivasertib. I’m on day 6 today. The only side effects I’ve had is pain from the Fulvestrant injections. Fingers crossed whatever side effects arise will be manageable. Best wishes to you. X
