Can any one explain to me

Hello. Ive recently been for a ultrasound and a mamagram. I had 2 scans and 3 mamagrams and a 3D mamagram and they took 2 biopsy from my breast and 1 from my arm pit (lymphnode) And i was told they were very concerned and its likely to be bc. I have a appointment on 29th October to discus the results of the biopsys. Im feeling very scared and im not understanding why they told me this before i get my results from the biopsies
Can any one please help  :slightly_smiling_face:

They can usually tell from an ultrasound whether it is cancer - the shape, density and if there are nodules on the surface (which a cyst would not have) The biopsy will just confirm the type of cancer and the grade. Try not to worry too much (hard I Know!) but it’s very early in the process and soon you will have more information x

Thankyou so much for the reply. I wasnt expecting it at all, in my head and heart i still hope its a cyst. My Grandma had the cancer gene and alot of my family members had breat cancer/bowel and liver. Im very nervous and anxious. Ive been having a sharp pain in my left breast for about 6 month. I went drs and she said it would be hormones. So i left it. Was very tired and feeling low in mood. Found a lump about 2 weeks ago. And it came to this.

Hi dandy1

Thank you for your post.

Waiting for results is a stressful and anxious time so it’s understandable you’re feeling scared right now. As @ivy-cat says the doctors can sometimes tell how things look at the time of your scan, but the biopsy will determine what the lump is. You say you have a clinic appointment on the 29th of October, often the waiting can be the hardest part.
