Can I ask your advice?

i hope you don’t mind me posting on here. I had BC 12 years ago and was a very active member of the BCC forums for years. I have a little niggle that is bothering me and wanted to see what people thought. I have had a bit of an ache in my left hip area for a few months. I honestly think it’s a result of lying on that side too much in bed and on the sofa but, of course, once you’ve had cancer it always plays on your mind! I have absolutely no problems with walking and mobility etc. The area just aches in the evening and feels bruised to touch. Know I should probably see the doc but just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts first. Thank you

Please please please go see your doctor. Tell her of your history. Please get it checked as your description needs investigating. Ethel x

Hi Hatts

Sorry you have these concerns but as Ethel has said please get yourself checked out and don’t get fobbed off, as quite a few aches can be by our GP (as has been read about on here). There is the possibility it is something completely unrelated to BC but if it is it needs treating ASAP to get the best out of treatment. Without trying to cause you extra worry my bone mets started in my hip and also felt bruised when I prodded the area. Not saying this is the case for you though.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Thanks Nicky and Ethel. Have made a GP appointment for today.

I went to the GP and was sent for an X-Ray. The results came back today. No lesions or signs of arthritis. Great I thought, but then the GP recommended a bone scan so now I’m worried again, thinking why would she refer for a bone scan if X-Ray ok!?
