I hope that this is not taken the wrong way, I don’t mean to offend anyone. So, I keep reading that TN is more common in pre-menopause and non-Caucasian women. I am 56, post menopause Caucasian. I just wondered about other TN ladies. I would like to push for the brca gene test to protect the rest of my family. What do you think?
Hi ktk. Im TN and 54 caucasion and post menopause. I must admit the TN part of the diagnosis passed me by. Just wanted to get the little lodger out. But more I read I would def like my daughter to have gene test. Can I ask how far into treatment are you.

Hi Val. Seems we are similar! I found a lump mid March, was diagnosed Thursday before Easter and told I was TN a couple of weeks later. I had therapeutic mammoplasty on Tuesday. I find out what the next stage is on 23rd May. How about you?
Hi ktk. My lump was found on routine mammogram march 6th. Had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy 25th april. Still waiting on results which is worst bit as I just want to know whats next now. Keep reading things but until I get results on Thursday its hard to know what to expect. Went back to work today trying to keep occupied. Hows things with you x
Hi Val. I’m surprisingly good. The sun helps! I’ll be thinking of you on Thursday. Let me know what they say. 23rd May for me. Can’t cope with work. It is too stressful, which I suspect is a contributing factor. Xx
Absolutely! And of course you then start t to Google…! So far I am contemplating a low methionine diet which basically means vegan. Not sure that I am that dedicated!! Another sunny Devon day ? x
Stunning place Devon. Im biased but Poole Dorsets pretty stunning too. Ahhh dreaded voogle what would we do without it. I think I have seen that diet on TN forum but not sure I could be that dedicated either. No bacon butties ummmm. ?x
Hey Val I work in Dorset, just. Lyme.
Hi ktk well results today. The lump was larger than though 2cm not 7mm removed inc margins. Hasnt spread to lymph nodes which is brill. It is agressive and quick growing so next step is chemo over 18 weeks then 3 weeks radiotherapy. Just waiting for it all to sink in. Have first oncology meeting 22nd. Hope you feeling ok and times passing quickly for you x
Hi Val. How did your oncology meeting go? I hear they had a downpour in Lyme yesterday. Some of my girlfriends came over for lunch and got soaked when they went home! Still sunny here!!

All the best for today x
Hi Val. Good news today. Margins and lymph nodes clear. I will hear from oncologist in a week or two and start chemo in 4 to 6 weeks. I asked about diet etc. They said it didn’t make much difference with TN except being a healthy weight. They are checking for vit D though and will give me a course of something to strengthen my bones as I am post menopause. Keep in touch. Kxx
Brilliant news ?? thats great. I asked about diet and was told on chemo eat what you like whenyou like.i have brought a nutri bullet so can have soups n smoothies if feeling rough. Will prob catch you on June or July chemo threads. Or here it will be nice to hear from you xx Val
