My rads finished 9 days ago and am I sore & itchy. I got Flamazine cream off the docs to use for under arms and neck. I gather this is to make sure it doesnt become infected? I know this sounds stupid but am I still aloud to bathe?
Although I am sore & tired I still feel that radiotherapy was a breeze so dont worry anyone who is waiting to start, you will be fine.

The say showering is best, but I like my bath. I bathed all the way through rads even though I like you was very sore and on Flamazin. I think just use the pure Simple products,no perfumed stuff, until the skin has healed, obviously no rubbing and just pat dry. It is now 3 weeks since my rads and my skin is almost back to normal.

I had 2 baths a day while on rads. I was told to use only simple soap - not even any of the other simple products and to pat dry gently afterwards. Also if you get hot and sweaty during the day try to keep the area dry.
I used the aqueous cream the hospital gave me - they said to put it on 3 or 4 times a day.
I was very sore for a couple of weeks but my skin recovered completely soon after that.

How soon after your rads stopped did you feel well. Im hoping to go back to work 2 weeks after mine finishes in january.
My rads finished 3 weeks ago but am not going back until January. I was very sore and swollen and my nipple went black. That has now nearly come off and skin is getting back to normal. Not everyone re-acts like this and there are ladies on here who have worked through Rads but think they found it very tiring. The reason I am still at home is that my Company nurse adviced me to stay off until after the Christmas holidays . Although I feel O.K. and a bit of a fraud I am going to do just that as after 12 years service I have hardly had any sick time. I maybe one of the lucky ones though as I still get full pay. I think if you are not too tired or suffer no effects you can go back to work, a lot of people do, it’s up to you with your circumstances and how you feel. Remember this is probably the most traumatic health issue you will experience.

My rads finished on wed 24th Nov my underarm skin broke 5 days later and 8 days later I have some flamazine to use and I can feel it easing off I am still sore and it is almost 2wks since I finished on Wed.
Its the wearing of bras that are uncomfortable but it may be completly different for you the hospital told me to day it does’nt happen to everyone just be aware in case 2 wks after is a little early. I had 20 and the travelling alone is tireing, Take care & I hope it all go well for you.
