Can I travel?

I’m working my way through treatment for primary breast cancer and it’s been a lot. We’ve planned a special holiday as a family for the end of May. All my treatment will be done by then but I’ll be starting on hormone suppressing medication - a monthly injection and tamoxifen. Can I travel when I start taking these or is that a no no? We’ve booked it and the thought of it has kept me focused. It hadn’t occurred to me that starting hormone treatment might mean I can’t travel.
Has anyone else travelled at this point or been advised not to?

I travelled to France about 3 weeks after finishing Radiotherapy (after a lumpectomy & chemotherapy) and having just started Anastrazole. We used ‘Insured With’ and got European cover for a year which was cheaper than we expected. The quote was simpler than I expected.

I can imagine how important this holiday is to you and your family, especially after everything you’ve been through. Remember to take things one step at a time and trust in the guidance of your healthcare team. Your well-being is paramount, and they will help you make the best decisions for your health.

I think it’s great that you’re planning a special holiday with your family. Regarding your travel plans after starting hormone treatment, it’s best to consult with your healthcare provider. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation and treatment plan.
In general, travel is often possible during hormone treatment, but it’s important to ensure that you’re fit to travel and that any necessary medical arrangements are in place. Your healthcare provider can give you the best guidance for your individual circumstances.
When I was in Australia, I had some great experiences with travel, like staying at Broadbeach accommodation. It was a real highlight of my trip!

@krtea I realise this is an old post but I wonder if you can offer any tips about getting the travel insurance quote? I’ve just spent half an hour on the phone with Insurance With (just noticed perhaps I got the wrong company as yours was Insured With). Anyway, I answered all their questions and they said they can’t quote me as I’m waiting for radiotherapy, even though it will all be over by the time of the holiday :woman_shrugging:t2: Did you get your quote while you were in the middle of your treatment? I really want to get the flights booked before prices soar but I’m sure the insurance would be easier to get if I was actually finished treatment. Any advice is welcome!
