can it be a benign condition

Hi, I am going out of my mind with worry. I have been referred to the breast clinic and my appointment is 16 June!! Not urgent. I noticed a slight indentation in my breast when my arm was raised the doc said she was able to see two. I need to stay positive but what else could cause this other than BC please can anyone help.
I have already been on benign conditions and haven’t been successfull.
As my appoinment is such a long way off it suggests things probably aren’t as bad as I think they are but I can’t help but worry. Just need something else to focus on. The waiting is awful.

Hi Karen

Me again. Im sorry I dont know much about indentations but 16th June seem such a long time for you to wait for an appointment. Did your doc say what he/she suspected? Did they give you an non urgent referral? If so and if it is too hard for you to wait you can ring the consultants secretary and ask to be considered if there is a cancellation. It is a very scarey time and it seems such a long time for you to wait.

Hi Yvonne
I phoned the docs after receiveing my appointment date and asked if I had been referred as urgent or not and was told I was referred as non urgent. By the time I do get to the hospital it will have been 2 months, I just keep thinking if its not urgent then I willl be ok and there are others who obviously need to be seen before me.
But it is so hard to be positive. My Mum was diagnosed with bc at 48, my grandmother also had bc so i do have a family history and I thought this may help to be seen earlier.
Hey Ho I will just have to wait, and try and stay positive. If it gets too much I will phone hospital and ask to be considered for a cancellation appointment.
Thanks for replying nice just to talk to some one not many people know especially not family.

Hi Karen

I found lump 2 weeks ago and am attending the breast clinic on Friday. My wait has not been nearly as long as yours will be and although I was pretty calm and together in the beginning Friday honestly cannot come fast enough for me now.

I think it is really unfair of your GP to expect you to wait until the 16th of June and if this were me I would be heading back there and asking for an urgent referral. The sooner you get seen by the breast clinic the better, for the sake of your mental health as much as anything.

Take care
Beverley

Hi Karen
You do have a long time to wait, it can’t hurt to call the hospital and see if they can move the appointment forward explaining your real worries etc. All the best Alice
