Anybody got any advice on apixoban and dentist as I’m starting to get toothache plus other blood pressure medication
Hi mickyboy
Thanks for posting.
Apixaban is a drug that is used to prevent blood clots. How this may affect dental treatment is one of the common questions that people ask about apixaban.
You will need to tell your dentist that you’re taking apixaban and show them your anticoagulant alert card. Your dentist may contact your doctor for advice before starting any dental treatment, especially if you need to have a tooth removed. Most people do not need to change the dose of apixaban before treatment. Your dentist will also want to know about any other medication that you are taking including the blood pressure medicines you mention.
