I’m new to the forum - had a 0.5mm Stage 1 tumour diagnosed by mammogram in November. NHS hospital appointment for lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy scheduled for Dec 24th and subsequently postponed. As I have private health insurance moved to other Trust surgeon and op scheduled for tomorrow, All ready and then cancelled today due to surgeon’s illness -so upsetting - back on NHS list but no date available. It also seems that private hospital is to close its surgeries now due to COVID crisis as it has no ITU facility. The surgeon says that as tumour is so small it is ok to wait but suggested taking hormone therapy in the meantime as cancer is highly oestrogen positive - I have had very bad experiences previously with hormone therapy and really don’t want to take this but am getting very anxious about how long I will have to wait for my operation. Any advice gratefully received !
I’m in the same situation
It sucks, I’m sorry.
