A robot vacuum and named him Hudson, my upstairs and downstairs butler. Thankfully he copes well with the dog hair and I wish I’d got one years ago. Also a waist leash so that I can still walk my woofers, albeit one at a time. I feel silly going for a walk without them so it makes me get out and about.
I could do with a Hudson - a robotic vacuum cleaner rather than a Miele Cat and Dog one might suit me better, or maybe a real Hudson. My experience of men is they don’t do housework which is a shame. I cannot stand dirty kitchens so I give myself a great workout through the day brushing the floor, wiping services with antibacterial sprays, cleaning the oven and oven shelves with wire wool type stuff that doesn’t rust, etc etc
You get my drift? It’s called OCD in many circles. My cleaner has left after cracking two of my toilets by sitting on them. She was taking ozempic to lose weight but it wasn’t working.
Enough of this, these are rich person problems…

I have gone crazy buying sport bras because my breast reconstruction surgery took me from an E cup to maybe a A cup or a small B cup. I know they told me I would not need bras anymore. I just can’t go without and sports bras you don’t really need to know a cup size. Since my plastic surgeon screwed up so much when he did my reconstruction my non cancer boob is smaller and lopsided than my boob with cancer. I cried when I took my bandages off after the week of having to leave them on. Here it is almost 5 months later, and I am still struggling with the botched job my plastic surgeon gave me. I just don’t want to go through another 7-hour surgery to fix it. My cancer surgeon said to wait until after my radiation is done before I chose to do another surgery because radiation can cause more disfigurement. I just don’t know but I also know I don’t like the way I look currently.
I’d rather get rid of my dishwasher than Robert The Spruce, my robot vacuum
Fabulous name well done Gelbel
Oopsss it doesn’t stop post op…
Ordered myself some new watercolour paints and a book today Scottish folklore.
If not now - when?
Ive just had to buy a lady shaver!
My mum said it might be too risky to shave my armpits with a razor after the sentinel node biopsy so ive got one with the blades hidden under the metal so it’s smooth to touch. I bought the cheapest one from boots but so far so good!
Oh that’s a good tip…
Oh are you allowed to say which one? I looked but was baffled by choice. Thanks
It was the cheapest one in boots for £14.99. Rechargeable. I thought if it didnt last id just buy the next one up but it definitely does the trick so far ![]()
Thank you ![]()
I just bought a glass kettle that has no plastic/water contact. It has absolutely nothing to do with my oestrogen positive breast cancer but it is still fully fuelled by my diagnosis haha ![]()
Tea is life ![]()
Ooh that sounds lovely ! What make is it?
I tried to get one in a real shop but most of them werent quite what I wanted. So I had to buy one from Amazon. Here’s hoping its as good as the reviews. It’s called…
COSORI Kettle, 3000W, Food-Grade Stainless Steel Filter & Inner Lid, Glass Spout, BPA Free, Easy-Clean & No-Spash Design, Electric Fast Boil Tea Kettles With LED, Boil-Dry Protection, Auto Shut-Off
I’m getting a new kitchen next month and I’ve splashed out on an instant hot water tap. I’m so excited about how much time it will save me not having to wait for the kettle to boil!
To be fair, we started the process before I knew about the cancer (although probably about the time it started to grow), but I can recommend buying a house as the ultimate distraction
.
We moved in on the 30th January, still have about 40 boxes to unpack, plus a pallet that had to go back into storage on moving day because there’s no room for it until we get rid of some furniture and other stuff, and I’ve scarcely thought about the upcoming surgery since.
I am determined to have cleared the boxes and decluttered as much as possible before the op on 23rd February. (There will still be some stuff stacked in temporary homes until we can get the kitchen and bathroom done, but I can live with that if it’s all on shelves and I know where things are.)
I’m loving this thread for all the ideas!! ![]()
Books are my weakness too. I’m really into witches and wizards cosy novels atm, but normally crime thrillers are my go to.
I’m buying lots of loose clothes, an adapted hoodie from George for chemo, several wigs and shortly picc line covers!!
Any excuse!! ![]()
