Cancer made me buy…

iPods :joy::joy::joy::joy:

cause I have good over the headphones I love, but wanted air pods for a good while and after surgery can’t lift my arms above my head. Solution was air pods

They are amazing! They have noise cancelling too - so when in medical menopause I will be less annoyed with the food crunching of crisps, cereal, rocket in a wrap! That is affecting me already. So they are Medicinal lifeline to family members….

Books, books and more books. I would like to read myself through the next 6 months haha
Distract myself and imagine I’m actually lying on a calm and peaceful beach somewhere whilst reading :books:

What’s your favourite genre?

I also have art supplies I need to use instead of adding to. They are two different hobbies :joy::joy::joy:

Thanks for kicking this thread off @hen it’s made me chuckle in recognition.

I’ve been outrageous in my buying since diagnosis- hrt cold turkey, hormone therapy to come - cleared out nearly all synthetic fibre tops - replaced with natural fabrics instead. Also changed bedding to natural too - I wanted to minimise hot flushes etc so a preemptive strike

Love this thread!!! It’s made me download the YUKKA app and basically throw out every toiletry and make up product I own and of course then replace with all natural ones which has cost me a small fortune as I’ve done it all at once rather obsessively :rofl: (just a warning to anybody once you go down the Yukka rabbit hole and start scanning all your food and toiletries it’s hard to get out) but the products individually aren’t expensive to keep up with at least!! Also like @foxgem lots of books to keep my mind busy and away from Google haha! Xx

I’m a massive believer in the benefits of exercise for people who have experienced cancer and so go to the gym and run a lot. I consider it part of my ongoing treatment plan as much as the medication. Of course that means I simply MUST have all the gear (I mean, I’ve had cancer, right?!). Too many running shoes, countless pairs of shorts, more sports bras than could be considered healthy, even bought a treadmill… Cancer has cost me a small fortune! :joy:

I usually like a good crime thriller but obviously my book choices are a bit different nowdays :rofl: anything that promotes cancer survival you can bet its in my book basket.

Loving this thread. As you’ve all been so honest I have to mention my essential oils collection thats growing steadily right now :rofl:

Love this and you 100% deserve it all!!!

Do you use the treadmill? I’ve been considering a treadmill/walking pad to go alongside the gym but don’t know if it would just end up gathering dust :joy:

Hahahaha snap with the essential oils haul because I threw all my toxic candles out :joy:

To be fair, it was a bargain as only paid £200 for it off Facebook Marketplace and they tend to be stupid prices new. It’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent! I use it a lot because I am odd and prefer treadmill running to outdoors apart from the actual races (paying the entry to those is another cancer cost, haha!). I pop my headphones on and listen to music or watch the telly. Defo recommend! :grinning_face:
