Cannula issue during chemotherapy

Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone else has had issues with having the cannula inserted into hand while having chemo.

2 years ago when I was having my 4th session of chemo, when the chemo had just started my hand around the cannula started to sting and went red and inflamed. The nurse took it out straight away. I was given different creams to clear it up which it did. But years since, the skin has become tight and the scar tissue has fussed my tendons making my hand no long able to make a fist or bend my fingers down fully.

I’ve just come out of surgery recently in which they tried to force my hand down and cut slightly into my tendons. I’m now awaiting physio.

Has anyone else come across this? Im in two minds whether this was a general unlucky event or whether it could have been prevented?
