Cape advice

I’m due to start capebetacine in about 4 weeks for secondary cancer having had progression of mets on targeted therapy .
Any tips on how to deal with diarrhoea and and also not get house bound for fear of being caught out while out .
I’m in my 70’s and on my own.

Hello there, I’ve been on capecitabine for four years in June. On the whole I have found taking them to be pretty manageable. I may have been extremely lucky but I have not suffered with diarrhea hardly at all. Only on the very odd occasion. I always make sure I eat well before taking them. Porridge for breakfast seems to have done me well.
You’ll probably know already about making sure your feet and hands are well moisturised to avoid cracking and blisters.
After a couple of years I found my fatigue increased so my oncologist reduced my treatment. I now take 6 tablets a day, 2 weeks on and two weeks off.
We all react differently but I hope this helps.
Wishing you all the best.
