Hi . I realise I’ve posted a few queries about Cape but am trying to gather more info before finally starting mid July .
( Fulvestrant and Ribociclib failed after 8 months - age 76 - Progression in my extensive spine mets and sacrum)
The chemo nurse who gave me an information session this week said to take tablets 30 mins after food which I knew . When I asked if I could then have something like a yoghurt or small snack when actually taking the tablets she said not to . As long as I eat properly 30 minutes before tablets does anyone know if something very small to eat with the tablets is ok ? I thought I’d read posts saying people did but maybe extra food with the tablets slows absorption too much .
Hi, sorry about this.
My oncologists told me to eat a good portion of food before cape. Not just a cracker or a cookie…
I only once forget to take the tablet after dinner, so i end up taking it at midnight without food, and i had a crazy stomacake and felt bad…
I think it go in your body too fast if you don’t eat enough. Also they toldme non to drink hot beverage immediately after.
I hope this help.
Good luck for everything
Sorry i misunderstood the question!
I’m not sure about eating togheter with the tablet…i never asked about that. But if the nurse told you not to, may be it is better you wait a while before you eat again…because yes, what they told me is that food slow the absorbtion…
I usually eated something with it only if i forgot to take it and let pass too much time from the meal…than, for not to have too much of stomacake or SE, i was eating alittle bit with it.
May be the nurses here can answer the question better!
Thanks for taking the time to answer . I appreciate that .
I suspect that as long as one has eaten properly half an hour before then maybe a small yoghurt with the tablets themselves might be ok . My biggest challenge will be getting up early enough in order for my evening meal and tablets not to be too late !!!
