I wonder if anyone on this combination could let me know how manageable it is. Apparently I will stay on this treatment for as long as it is working rather than a set number of cycles so I wonder how people manage the side effects. Any advice would be great, thanks.

Hi, I’ve been on Capecitabine for just over a year. It’s my first chemo and I’ve found it very doable. The only symptom I’ve had is dry and cracked heals, a really common side effect…I would advise you moisturise your hands and feet from the start…my side effects took about 5 cycles to kick in…the beauty of the chemo is you can lower the dose if you need to. Like you I’m on this chemo until it stops working…I have friends who have been on this treatment 2 and even 4 years. At time of typing this I have no active cancer and have been living with secondary bc since 2003. Good Luck…x
