I went to the hospital yesterday for Herceptin, but the Dr didn’t actually examine me, we just talked.
I noticed sometime in the evening a strange, slightly raised red mark in the shape of a C just below my mx, well about halfway on my abdomen.
It is raised because you can feel it is different to the other skin and almost looks like a burn.
Should I put cream on, maybe an antihistamine or a mild steroid cream, should I leave it alone and watch it?
I was a bit annoyed that after being at the hospital yesterday, not not being examined this seemed to have appeared the same evening!
I’m not due back to the hospital until 3 weeks for the next dose of Herceptin.
Carole - sorry no help here - hopefully one of the others will be along soon…

I am no use sorry - just wanted to bump it up for you.
I suppose you could try an anithistamine cream - but surely if it was something sinister it wouldnt just be there in the evening? - could it be ring worm? if its still there in afew days might be worth phoning them. If anything just to stop you worrying.
love shirl X
It’s not just there in the evening Shirl, its been there since I noticed it yesterday evening and is still the same today. I find myself looking at it every hour - stupidly - to see if its growing.
How do you catch ring worm? I don’t know anyone else who has had/has it?
Anyway, taking the dog out now so must stop getting in a tizz!

Its the same thing as athletes foot, fungal infection. You can get it off animals etc. Its looks raised and normally goes in a circle.
You could get some atheltes foot cream from the pharmacy and try it.
Carole - any news / change etc ? {{{hugs}}}
I got diagnosed with lymphoedema yesterday… My arm was doing really well had got back all my movement well before the rads, but i was on a bus that had an accident about 3 weeks ago and banged my arm on the seat in front. That night my arm started hurting and then swelling up the next day… i called my physio from the local cottage hospital and she arranged for me to see the lymphoedema nurse - but the first free appointment wasn’t until yesterday.
When i got to the clinic they asked if i was willing to be assessed by someone at the end of their training who needed to do a full 90 minute assessement (with a second physio there) so i agreed. At least it meant i knew they were doing a complete assessment etc…
Anyway - i do have lymphoedema so have now got loads of leaflets and exercises to do etc and need to go back in a month to double check i have taken it all in correctly and see how the measurements are etc. Luckily it isn’t too bad yet so don’t need a sleeve or anything like that at the moment.
Have your team warned you how much more at risk we are of lymphoedema after a full node clearance and loads of rads…?

Hi all
Theresa I am sorry to hear about the lymphoedema (spelling?), what a flippin nuisance just by being on a bus - I always thought buses were bad for your health LOL. Seriously, as if you haven’t got enough to do without extra exercises.
Yes, I’ve been warned about all the problems with my right arm/hand/fingers/shoulder etc. so try to be careful. Being diabetic I now only have 1 hand to do my finger pricks which means the other hand is getting quite sore!
As for the red mark, it is still there but is much less noticeable, I’ll keep an eye on it anyway. Next time I go for Herceptin I am having a mammogram (?) can’t think how they’re going to do that without a breast to squash - any ideas?
Thanks for your answer on my thread re my shoulders, I’ve heard nothing from the rhumatologist yet so don’t know what course of treatment he will suggest, I’m already having physio which isn’t helping.
Anyway, I hope you and everyone have a great Easter - today here in France it is a normal day so everyone is working - only Monday is a bank holiday. My son is arriving on Sunday (he should have got here yesterday but forgot his passport), so after I’ve hugged him I’ll give him a slap! He’s 23, how does he cope?
