change to breast lump

I found a lump on my breast at the beginning of the year and was referred to the hospital. They told me it was a blocked milk duct but a second smaller lump appeared next to it and once again I was advised it was a blocked duct. They have given me a follow up appointment for next month but I have noticed that the lump has doubled in size. I have read quite a lot on breast lumps most of which has been really helpful but it doesnt stop you worrying. I dont know if this is relevant or not but my I have never been pregnant and my last period was very different to usual my cycle. I have an appointment with my gp next week but im really scared that not only will this turn out to be cancer but that because of my age it hasnt been taken seriously enough by the consultants I have seen so far. I have only had an ultrasound so far.

Hi lisa32

It sounds like you’re having difficult time at the moment.  I’m sure some of the other users will bea long soon to offer you their support.  In the meantime you might find it helpful to give the BCC helpline a call and talk things through with a member of staff.  Here you can share your cocnerns with someone who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information.  The number to call is 0808 800 6000 and lines are open weedays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.
