I agree, I was diagnosed in 2009 and no lump was detected in fact my GP said “there is no lump you do not have a breast cancer” how wrong she was glad I demanded a mamogram at the age of 41.
Hi all, I found a small lump size of a small pea in nov 2011 did not go to gp as I have regular mammo’s due to family history, got all clear in january from mammo but lump still there. Decided to go to gp 2 weeks ago and got refered to breast clinic, had my appt last thurs, had ultrasound was told that the lump was fatty tissue and normal my worry is that now there is a smaller lump at side of other lump that is slowly gettin bigger. I explained this to doc at hospital and he said that fatty tissue can continue to grow but just to be on safe side they gave me a appt to return 6 months later.I thought fatty tissue was easy to move my lumps are hard and rooted , any advise plz hugs layla xx
thats a good point made there babes367.
I didnt have a lump that I could feel but I did have a sort of droopy dimple …just assumed it was part of growing old …luckily I am in the age group where I get a every 2 years mammograph and my cancer was picked up then. Never ever felt a lump of any kind!
Always ask about any changes to your breasts!

If you find any lump or notice any changes in your breast please get it checked out. I was misdiagnosed on two occasions by the breast clinic at our local hospital, they said it was scare tissue when infant it was invasive lobular cancer which does not always show up as a lump but as a thickning of the skin. To begin with the cancer felt like I had a phone sim card under my skin that is the only way I could describe it. Good luck I hope it turns out to be fatty tissue.
Thanks , will monitor and wait to see if it carry’s on getting bigger, have started getting stabbing pains from side of breast to nipple and also not discharge as suvh but a crusty nipple ,sorry for the gross discription , anyhow will wait and see , thanks for you reply’s .xx

I agree with everyone about getting anything checked out, if its nothing then at least you have peace of mind> Our bodies are very complex things and we should pay attention when they tell us something.
I wasn’t so lucky, had no lumps or pain, mine was picked up on routine mammogram and boy what a shock.
Please dont just wait n see, go get it checked !!

Hey thank you so much to all for caring, I will surly go to the doc. this week & hope everything will be fine. And from few day’s I am getting irritation quickly for small small things :(…
May be after getting report I will be normal.
Hello
I’m new here and just after some advice. Dont know whether to bother the doctor or not.
I am 29 & I hve found a lump that sticks out of the skin, not a lump under the skin, but dont want to go to doc if its something stupid like a spot or bite! It doesnt look like a spot and nothing comes out of it like a spot and not itchy like a bite, its just there! I also do get a rash on that boob but I always put that down to my Eczema.
Ive had a scare in the past frm a lump and got told it was fatty tissue and that was the other breast but this lump has got bigger in a couple of days.
Do I go to doc or see if it goes incase it is just a spot? Does a week really make much difference? I’m not being stupid (i’m from a medical background) this is all just new to me.
Dear mummymoonbo
As people have said earlier in this thread it is always best to get any changes checked with a health professional. I have attached a link to our section of the website “Worried about breast cancer” which may be helpful:

I have a lump which has been described as fat necrosis after a surgery in March.
Clinic have told me without biopsy that it is only that and I am hoping that the radiologist who is the clinical director of screening, is experienced enough to know that this is the case.
I would have been happier with a biopsy, which the radiologist stated the consultant could do, as it was so palpable, so no need for ultra sound guided biopsy, and when I went back down, she stated that there was no need to biopsy.
oh my word iv noticed a lump appear on my boob 6 week post op. how good is my bcn i called her this morning shes got me in to see consultant monday. she,s told told me not to worry, but we do, im wondering what it could be!!!
Hi tra
Can I ask? What surgery did you have?
After a lumpectomy, I noticed a large lump, which I have been told that it is fat necrosis, with highly unusual signs??? Whatever that means…
Mine was very close to the incision, consultant told me to massage it, my GP has said no, today…
Thanks flori35,
I have decided to give it a month or so and see if they continue to get bigger,I just don’t want to go back and look stupid. I was annoyed that i wasn’t offered biopsy on lump, as I do go every year for mammogram as my mother , grandmother and grandad all had breast cancer.I will just have to wait and see ,thanks layla.x
