Hi,
I’ve had three out of the six TAC chemo treatments and am being changed to FEC for the final three. Has anyone else changed to this and how did you get on?
thanks
Ruth
Hi Ruth
I think it is fairly common to be changed half way through treatment. I am having 3 fec (had 2 already) and changing to 3 tax. How did you find the tac? Did they decided during treament to change or at the beginning. I knew from the start what chemo I would be having.
When do you start the fec.

Hi Anne
Originally I was scheduled for the Neo Tango trial, but Larry Lump was just under the criteria for that, so my onc scheduled me for 6 x TAC. Unfortunately I have had tremendous problems with fatigue and, when I went for cycle 4 on friday they were very concerned. I hadn’t picked up at all during the 3 weeks from the last chemo. Had it been number 6 they would’ve had social services set up a care plan, with someone coming in two or three times a day to help me out, but, with three to go she decided that the risk to me was just too great. So, I am on a two week “holiday” from chemo and start three FEC on 30th.
I did know that a lot of people are scheduled for a number of cycles on one chemo followed by a number on another, but not taken enough notice to see how many get their treatment plan changed completely.

Mine changed first because my onc decided to change 6 CMF to 3 Taxotere and 3 CMF, as that is considered more effective, then changed back to 6 CMF beause I was allergic to Taxotere and cannot have it after all.
