Chemo advantages and disadvantages

I need some advice please. I don’t know anyone who has had bc and don’t have anyone to talk to. My bc nurse is brilliant but she is so busy. I was recently diagnosed and had a lumpectomy and got the results 2 days ago. My sn biopsy was clear but the tumor was grade 3 and ER+. I am 46. They are doing oncotesting and I am seeing oncology next week for results. I have a lot of friends who are medics and they are all telling me to have chemo but if my onco score comes back low and oncology don’t recommend it, can I insist? I really feel I don’t know enough about this and the pros and cons of chemo. Can anyone tell me? I would really really appreciate any advice. Thank you

Yes - don’t worry you will get a response wherever you post - but you may get more information in the chemo section .Its a common dilemma - whether to have chemo or not - everyone is different and it’s a very personal decision .The oncotype testing is usually very helpful in making a decision - make sure you right all your questions down before you see Oncologist and don’t leave till you are happy you have had them answered !

Hi Rosey, I think your team willputall 9f your results together and give you the best advice. I never had onco testing because my Cancer was her2+ and 28mm so I had to have chemo. If your team think you need chemo they will make sure you get it. Good luck and I hope all goes well xx

I am only post biopsy so IDC (?) not sure if thats the correct way to write it. 23mm - The one “borderline” node they tested came back normal. HER2 negative. Oestrogen receptive.

I dont know if I will be advised to do chemo yet. But I have decided I will at least try it. See how I feel because everyone reacts differently to it.
