I need a rant!
I was all set for my first chemo today. I’m having it at home as they could fit me in quicker and its less stress. They were supposed to be coming this afternoon so I had organised everyone and everything with military precision and then they called me this morning to say they had forgotten to order my drugs so I will have to have it tomorrow instead! I’m soooo annoyed! This doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence!
So as I have a day to kill now I’m going to see my hairdresser to have my hair cut short. I don’t want to do it but needs must.
Hi there I know how you feel. I do sympathise. I was delayed on my second chemo due to low blood count and on others delayed at the hospital due to incompetence etc. I have learned to just go with the flow.Let go of the anxiety and just say to yourself " this is allright " and use the time to do something else. You will have other delays and no doubt down days . It just isn’t worth getting het up about. Good luck with the hair cut. Have a lunch out or a nice coffee and a cake you may not feel like eating tomorrow and the day after and you may not be able to taste it by then anyway. This is a long journey. Make the most of today.
Thanks Ado
I went for just a short bob haircut today. Couldn’t go too drastic yet! And I had a big cake and I’ve bought new clothes, a bottle of wine and chocolates!
Chemo now scheduled for tomorrow at 12.30
Good luck for tomorrow Buzzy. I too would have been furious if that happened to me. I had my first chemo on 16 Aug. Day 10 for me. The actual day was horrible, I think as they were short staffed and the waiting was so long. Had bad sickness and nausea day 3 -6 and was admitted into hospital but that is way way behind me now and apart from a few minor SE that I can cope with, I feel GOOD. I too bought myself some new clothes and some new make up (ready for the bald look!) and some swavorski necklaces. It did make me feel better! Hope is goes smoothly tomorrow. Let us know how you get on…

Buzzy, what a pain in the ass. Grrrr. I hope you manage to enjoy your evening with your treats - a day’s grace, it’s the only way to look at it. I know it’s awful to wait when you just want to get something over with.
Good luck for tomorrow. Nearly one down. xxxx
Hi Buzzy
My first one was cancelled too - back in December when the drugs didn’t arrive due to the snow. I burst into tears - I’d physched myself up and just wanted to get on with it. Good luck tomorrow - although I hate to be a spoil sport the wine tonight is probably not a good idea - you need to be well hydrated both for your veins and to tolerate the chemo - have plenty of water with it if you do drink it.

I’ll only have one or two glasses. Promise!
Hi Buzzy,
I’m really sorry to hear your first chemo has been cancelled - more stress but I don’t know if it is being done by ‘healthcare at home’ if it is I found them to be very good overall so bear with it and give them a second chance. All the best for the first session
cheers

All the best Buzzy,
How infuriating for you…hope it goes smoothly tomorrow.
I had my first FEC on Tuesday and struggled initially but things have picked up now!
Let us know how you go on honey and big hugs to you XXXX

Hello Buzzy, thinking of you today. Hope it all goes OK. I was supposed to have my first one on Thursday as well but it got changed to next Monday. At least I got 2 days notice though so had time to adjust. I think my chemo unit got overbooked! I can sympathise with you - my operation nearly got cancelled at the last minute due to my surgeon being caught up with an emergency and that really freaked me out.
I’ll be interested to hear how you get on.

Well I had my first FEC this morning. 1 down, 5 to go! It wasn’t too bad at all. Just had a very cold arm and my nose stung with the cyclophosphamide but apart from that I feel quite normal. It was nice having the treatment at home. Much less stressful than getting to the hospital and it smells nicer here! lol
Good luck for next week Julianne. I’m having my op after chemo so I have that to come.
Keep in touch. Feel free to message me anytime
