I am so pleased I have chemo curls as I have always had thick straight hair. My hair is short and very uneven so I have decided to have my first hair cut in January (my birthday) keeping it short as my family think it suits me (personally I think my husband could not bare to see me lose it again like I did - it was the most traumatic experience for both of us) anyway my question is will I keep these curls ?xxx
Sorry, Nanna, they’re called chemo curls for a reason . Once you have your first cut they will begin to disappear . I just loved mine. They made me feel quite lively and certainly saved a lot of time on the hair drying front! Have kept my hair short as I can’t tolerate the feel on my niwbsensitive skin. Also, on Letrozole which has a thinning effect, so hairdresser keeps mine short and layered for a bit of lift and bounce. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. ?
Hi Nanna J - I think I may be unusual then from what Annie says, as my chemo curls are still here (I finished chemo in March 2017). My hair was slightly curly before but nothing like it is now. I think however it grows back we are all grateful that it has come back! I’ve kept mine a lot shorter than it was - time for you to experiment and see what happens?
