Chemo food

Hi everyone,

Im day 8 post 1st FEC-T and I really suffered with nausea, had to go in the day after for IV anti sickness and saline.

my question is, how can I help myself 2nd round?

Am I better off not eating or eating that morning, chemo is 10am, last time I ate a sandwich whilst I was there and had crisps when I got home before the nausea got me.  I suffered nausea for 3 days after my op too from the anaesthetic so I’m suspecting I maybe probe to this.

Any suggestions are welcome ?

Thanks xxx

During chemo (and afterwards) you need to be eating a healthy diet, not junk food. Try to eat a light diet, mainly fruit and vegetables with either plant based protein or fish. Getting into good habits now (when you’re not hungry) will help you in the future as you go forwards.

Hi.  I haven’t had chemo but find ginger helpful when I’m nauseous - biscuits or cordial for me.

Sounds as if you are having a rough time so I’ll be thinking of you.  Hope the second round will be better. x

I am 1 week away from my 4th EC and my nausea has been very mild.I am following a balanced diet, lots of veggies and fruit, also meat, fish, eggs, protein. I also treat myself to some sugary treats, pizza , crisps .

On the morning of chemo I tend to do have a vegetarian version of the English breakfast .The days before I try up protein and superfoods like broccoli, berries, nuts, and I do the same the days after.

Ginger helps with nausea, either tea or biscuits.Hope next session is better for you!Big hugs❤️?
