Chemo offered with only a 2.5 percent benefit

Hi I have just had my Oncotype results with a score of 17 I’m er positive .I’m 47 and have been recommended to have chemotherapy but there is only a benefit of 2.5 %.
The consultant said it would be worth considering ovary suspression as a plan b option.
I am going to ask for a second opinion but wondered if anyone else had been in a similar situation.
What benefit is chemotherapy normally?
Thanks for your help

Hello. I was in a similar situation and my Oncotype score was 10 so little benefit of chemotherapy. I opted for radiotherapy and hormone therapy tamoxifen. I tried ovarian suppression and Letrozole but the menopause was awful so changed to tamoxifen only. I am 43 now and has to decide what was right for me and also think about my quality of life. It’s a tough decision to make but hopefully you’ll make the right choice for you :heart_hands:
