I was just reading on another thread that some hospitals supply iced gloves to help with the nails…god how cold must that be, especially if (like me) you have cold cap on too.
I am still holding on to my hair, it is shedding but no bald patches. When people describe handfuls of hair, I am imagining great clumps…mine are more single strands…so it’s not quite clear to me at what stage of hairloss I am at.
I was under the impression TAX was more effective with cold cap than FEC…
Helloooo everyone,
Sorry have not been blogging of late but have had a couple of small hic-cups. My white blood cell count almost vanished off the scale so had to go into hosp for tests and jabs. Was able to have my second FEC on 13th Nov but had to have the wbc jabs which knocked me off course - felt very fluey - then had my wipe out day(s) but am coming round now. Hating this going round at 10mph when I normally go 100mph, but OH says this is a marathon so its best to go slowly and get to the finish line!!
Yesterday, when not feeling too good, friends and neighbours called by all of them bearing gifts of lasagnes (x3!!),cakes etc, bless them. Deep freeze now full of lasagnes. Should have asked them to come back anor time but the smell of the lasagnes was just too much to turn away!!
Hair has now been shaved off, fed up of leaving trails everywhere, I even vacuumed my head to try and get the excess off, the things we do ehh!! Wiggy still feels as if its perched on top of my head, not part of me yet!
Hoping everyone is as well as can be expected,
Regards,
Jan
Sorry you are feeling so low, must be horrible to have chemo delayed. It’s hard enough to psyche yourself up to only then be told ‘sorry not today.’ You must take it easy tho’, how lovely of your friends and neighbours to bring roundgifts of food. Can’t people be just great and just when you really need it too.
Have they told you when you can have chemo yet?
Take care and look after yourself, get that strength back on track!
