I am a 75 year old female. Diagnosed with cancer on June 16. Had lumpectomy July 26. Pathology report indicated that tumor was invasive ductal carcinoma ER positive PR negative HER2 negative that was stage 1 grade 2 clear margins and no lymph node involvement. Initially told that i would need radiation and hormone blocking pill. After the oncotype test score was 32 which meant 20% chance of return in 9 years with only pill vs 5% chance of return with chemo (taxotere and cytoxan) and pill. Since i have history of myocarditis in 2021 and being treated for nonsustained ventricular tachycardia, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, hypertension and myasthenia gravis. All of which is currently well controlled on medication. Oncologist is recommending chemo, but leaving decision to me. Hardest decision to make. Any input would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum @absgirl . I haven’t been in your position but I know there are lots of people on the forum who have had to make very similar decisions ,I’m sure some of them will be along to share their experiences soon . You could also ring the BCN nurses on the helpline to talk it through they are very good at helping people think through difficult choices . 0808 800 6000

Thank you. Hoping to fiind out reactions of taxotere and cytoxan in patients with similar Comorbidities in 70’s.
