Tracy, Hi, I’m in the same position as you… in fact due to see my oncologists tomorrow morning to find out more about my chemo and dates etc. I had a lumpectomy early Feb and at first thought I would avoid the chemo but unfortunately they found a micromet in one of my lymph glands which pushed me into being a posible candidate for it and then I had some genetic testing done (Endopredict) which showed that chemo was recommended for me. Slowly getting my head around it… also have really no idea what to expect… going to have an initial look at wigs with a friend on Thursday! Hope you’re feeling ok.
Best wishes
Emma
Hello Tracy and welcome. You will have lots of help and support here.
Certainly for me the ‘not knowing’ is the hardest part. My diagnosis was last October and surgery for MX very quick.
Chemo is ongoing and hopefully cycle 5 on Thursday out of 6.
Don’t google too much and take the information you are given from your oncologist etc.
It is a very scary time and I still ask - why me??
The C word seems to be everywhere when you are told the news.
You will find out so much from the threads and when you feel you are alone, you will soon realise we are all with you.
Take care - Lou xx
Hi everyone thanks everyone for your support, just got my appointment on Thursday afternoon so will find out what’s happening next x
Hi Tracey,
I am new on this site,  just put my first post on it and saw your post when I was browsing. I have just seen my Oncologist and today been given the date for first chemo on 12th April. I’m also a bit anxious but the sooner it starts the sooner it’s over. I’m dreading losing my hair, so going for Cold Cap. I had my surgery a month ago, a wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsies, and knew from before the op I’d need chemo as grade 3 from initial biopsies. I’m thinking of getting a wig but not sure.Â
All the best.
Hi Tracey and all - hope you’re all ok. Wig shopping successful today! Wasn’t as bad as I thought and had it on for a full five minutes when I got home without my 10 year old even noticing ha ha!
Have jumped over to the April 2017 starters board as I now have my date for starting chemo on 5th April (next Wed! Help!) but starting to get my head around it. They have also started a facebook group so hope to see you on there.Â
Best wishes
