Chemotherapy induced cardiomyopathy

I was diagnosed in June, had lumpectomy in July, 4.5cm, and 3 of5 lymph glands were found to have cancer. I had 4 doses of the horrible strong red drug, and then changed to docetaxol a week last thurs. Last thurs I was still suffering from tummy upset so went in to get checked out, where they found out, totally unconnected, that I have heart failure!!! I am also neutroplenic which seems to still be dropping, was 0.2 yesterday, so they are giving me a jab to boost that this aft. They are struggling on what to give me, as I have asthma and so beta blockers are a last resort. This has completely thrown me. I was getting thru chemo with no problems. Now they have to stop my chemo also, which worries me a lot too… I can still have radium, but will now also have a mastectomy, and can’t have that until my heart gets sorted out, so the wait also worries me. They are hoping the heart will be reversible, has anyone else had similar???. Thanks xx

Hi Lily

I thought I had HF after chemo but this was ruled out by a scan. I know tho that there are a number of ladies on here who do have have it, so hopefully someone should be along soon.
