Chemotherapy with a cold

Hi everyone

I’m due to have my 3rd cycle of EC tomorrow marking my halfway point of chemo, I had my oncology appt today and bloods were all fine, mentioned I’ve had a cold since Sunday with no temp and resting negative to COVID and they said it’s up to me if I want to go ahead or delay by a week.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had chemo at the tail end of a cold and if you think it’s best to hold off for a week or just get it over and done with and the steroids will get me through?

Thanks!

Completely your decision. If bloods came back ok I would get it over & done with bht everyone is different.
If your team are giving you the choice they are not worried aboht your cold nor are they worrying about delaying for a week.
Do what you think you can cope with best
Good luck

Hello
If you feel ok and can handle sniffs then go ahead
Take a blankey, wear fluffy socks, tell the team if anything changes but if temp, covid test and bloods are ok you should trust your team

Good luck x

Thank you both! I’m in the chair now complete with cold cap so happy to be going ahead. Will be glad to be half way through after today!
