hi everyone new to this site, started chemo last thursday dont know how im suppose to be feelin, feels like im just sat waitin to be bed bound
Hi Sugarsugar,
Everyone is different - some people sail through without many side effects. Some unfortunately suffer quite alot. But for those who suffer it is recommended to speak to your oncologist or breast care nurse to up the anti-sickness etc for the next round.
If you’re sat around waiting - then you’re probably going to be fine! I did the same for my first round! Sat around at home waiting to feel poorly - and apart from a little bit of nausea, disrupted sleep and serious munchies from the steroids, and a sore throat - I was absolutely fine. I have since kept a diary and my side effects seem to be the same each cycle - I take it easy for 4 or 5 days after chemo so I can nap when I want to - but after that, I’m fine.
I found the first session quite emotional too.
It is very doable Sugarsugar. Keep in touch with us and let us know if you have any other questions.
