Chest lump

im worried to go to the doctos as i get paranoid about being fobbed of and wasting peoples time …a few weeks ago i bent over a bed (im a carer and was leaning to move somebody) and a pain shot through my chest and took my breath away since then i feel like theres something there its not super painful more like a dull ache but it feels heavy and i feel its affecting my breathing slightly…there also feels like there is a swelling or lumpy bit toward the bottom of my sternum …i know i must see a dr but am i just being paranoid…could it be anything serious …im just looking for reassurance im not being paranoid please

It’s difficult to know from your post where the pain is coming from. Breast pain is a very common condition in women of all ages. It can have several causes, which our information explains, but includes chest wall pain which can feel as though it’s coming from the breast, but really it comes from somewhere else. Chest wall pain can have several causes, such as pulling a muscle in your chest.

Many people are worried they’re being paranoid and wasting peoples time by reporting new symptoms, but it’s important to get your symptoms checked, especially as you feel the pain is affecting your breathing.

As you have noticed these symptoms, we would suggest you make an appointment with your GP to be assessed as @Tili has also said.
