Chest wall lump anyone?

I posted some time ago whan i hd to have a bone scan for my painful swollen rib. Nothing was found so they put it down to ‘adverse effects from treatment’ meaning the rads. This was in April. yesterday a saw a top consultantand he wants m to have a CT scan as he wants to rule out a tumour hiding undr the rib and pushing it forward!!Has anyone experienced or heard of this??? My physio thinks i have costo chondritis!!!
thanks JulieXXX

Yes I have herad of this and I think a CT scan is a wise move.

good luck with it

best wishes

Hi Jane
Can you tell me more? you seem to have a lot of knowledge on your other threads!

I am 6 weeks post-op and noticed yesterday that when I lie down, part of my chest wall on the left side (where the tumour was) sticks up higher than on the other side. If I poke it, it is also a bit sore but I don;t know if this is due to the op.

Advice please?

Thanks,

Cassie

…oh and by the way I have not had rads so definitely not attributable to this.

Not really. I have cancer in nodes in lymph nodes in my neck and some in chest wall. I don’t think they are under my rib though, but my knowledge of biology is poor.

Its always so anxiety making waiting for scans and so hard to get information when you feel no one else has quite what you’ve got.

Hope you can get the scan soon.

Jane

Hi Julie

I think with a medical history of having breast cancer and you have an unresolved complaint - this makes sense to have the CT scan to rule out anything else. presumably you mentioned it as still being a problem when you saw the consultant yesterday…

hope you get date and scan soon,

cathy

Good News !!! CT normal just showing swelling at the costo-chondrial joint! In other words Chosto-chondritis!
So pleased!
