Hi wondered if any asthmatics had noticed worsening symptoms whilst having radiotherapy? Im on day 5/15 treatments to chest wall and a chesty cough I already had seems to be getting worse at night. Im wondering if it might be as a result of the treatment or just my cough/asthma getting worse. Ive already had 2 courses of antibiotics and steroids but considering going back to GP again! She ordered Sputum test 3 weeks ago but results arent back yet!
Im guessing no one has had a similar problem. However progressing forwards hiws it going with breath holding? Im managing surprisingly well so far. Not quite halfway through yet so not being over confident but… x
Hi
I am a fellow asthmatic! I had 9 sessions of radiotherapy in January. It was my left side so had to do the breath hold. My lump was quite high in the breast so close to chest wall. I did not have any problems with my chest, lungs at all, during or after treatment. In reply to you next post, I also surprised myself with the breath holding. It came close on a couple of occasions but I managed it. In fact the radiographer commented on my lung capacity.
Oh blimey sounds just like me! Matbe because we are so aware of how we have to breathe its actually helpful! X
Ps i found the scan part harder. Im only on 7/15 so quite a way to go! X
@susynight , funnily enough that was suggested to me!
