Hello
I wonder if there is anyone out there who has had any experience similar to my own? I had a mastectomy in 2009, followed by chemo and rads. I saw a surgeon last October and he was keen to do my reconstruction just a year on from my rads. I am now 5 months post surgery and have had chronic pain across the reconstruction, in my shoulder and back every since. It has got marginally better since the immediate weeks following the surgery but it’s not getting any better now in months.
I keep being told “it will take time”. That my tissue was very tight due to the rads. I wonder if I was a candidate for this at all and I was definitely never made aware by the surgeon or oncologists that this could be the outcome.
I am miserable with it and it just seems like I should not have had it done - I was not in pain before this!
Does anyone know if this is in any way ‘normal’
