Classical LCIS E-cadherin is negative

I’ve requested by pathology results and there is additional information on there. ‘E-cadherin is negative confirming Classical LCIS’. The classical LCIS was not mentioned to me. I also have Grade 1 ductal cancer and DCIS in the same breast. Anyone have experience of this?

Hi yes my results are similar. Mixed ductal and lobular invasive cancer and also LCIS and DCIS

Really wasn’t expecting those results, I hoped surgery , radiotherapy and hormone treatment would be enough but I am going to need chemotherapy etc now too. How are you getting on?

Hi. Thank you for your response. I have only just seen your reply so apologies for the late response. I am now on the other side of everything.I also had grade 2 invasive ductal cancer in my other breast. I Was diagnosed exactly 7 months ago. Following a lumpectomy, the margins were not clear. I have now had a double mastectomy with reconstruction. How are you getting on?

I have had my surgery ( WLE) and am going to start chemotherapy on Friday. Not looking forward to it I must say. Unfortunately there is a high chance of distance recurrence ( secondary cancer) so they want me to have everything. I was so disappointed as until the pathology results came through I thought it was radiotherapy and hormone tablets for me .. really hoped to avoid chemotherapy but here I am. I hope you will be ok . Really interested to hear x

Thank you. I wish you all the best too.

I was initially going to have just a lumpectomy which would have left me very lopsided. I also have MS so they wanted to keep the surgery as simple as possible. The surgeon explained again on the day about the lopsided outcome and I must have looked sad because he said I’d be taking a big risk but if I really wanted he would do a reduction on the other breast at the same time, which was fantastic. It took a while ( including being allergic to the dressings) but I have healed. How are you doing after your surgery as it sounds more complicated than mine?
