Climarelle Duvets

Hi,

Not too sure which post box this should be placed in, but I thought with the fact that Tamoxifen is causing my night sweats, other ladies may be able to help me.

Has anyone tried this duvet? Before I spend over £100 buying it, I wondered if just the duvet alone is enough, or do you need to purchase all the bedding?
Plus, can you put a cover over the duvet, or does it decrease the efficiency.

Would love to hear other opinions please.

thanks
Linda

Can I recommend a British wool duvet…I work with wool and it is fab for night sweat probs…

…and I’ve gone back to a sheet and lightweight cellular blankets; easy to throw off - and on.

Hi LIF what are the all wool duvets marketed under? I am very keen to stay with natural fibres. Not sure if you can say but am sure I cannot be the only one interested in this. Thanks Jackie xx

Hi Linda
Tesco direct sell wool ones and there are quite a number of reveiws there to see what others think.

Cathie Thanks would never have thought of Tesco. Jackie xx

I’ve just seen in Asda some climate control duvets. Don’t know what they are like but they are only £12 for a double.

Thank you everyone, I’ll have a look at the supermarkets first before I spend money I haven’t really got…thanks Linda

I got a wool duvet from thewoolcompany.co.uk. I’m still getting too hot at night with it but suspect that’s because I always run hot and is nothing to do with hormonal side effects. It would probably be better for me to use the summer weight one all year round but my poor OH would freeze. Lovely comfy quilt anyway!

some people say they work others say they dont so I didnt bother buying one instead I use my summer duvet and bought a chillo pillow and I do sleep better, it does not stop the flushes but does keep my head cool, having said that when I first get into bed its too cold for me.
these are expensive about £28 and looks like a bit of foam inside a plastic case that you use as it is with your pillow or inside a pillow case.

Can I suggest two single quilts for partners. You can both have different tog then. We tried it years ago 'cos I’m a light sleeper, OH would turn over taking duvet with him, I’d wake up and not be able to get back to sleep. Duvet each solved the problem.

I bought an expensive Climarelle quilt in desperation while on Tamoxifen and it was a complete waste of money. I don’t understand how the company gets away with making the claims it does - the ‘climarelle’ aspect amounts to nothing more than a slightly different surface on one side of the cotton cover of an ordinary synthetic quilt.

You could try using your summer quilt with blankets on the top so you have an adjustable level of cover. I agree two singles for partners is a great idea.

As for me, my hot nights have much improved after being switched to Femara - weird but true!
