Cold cap number one...

So I had my first round of chemo and cold cap tester day… It really wasn’t that bad you forget it’s there after 10mins! I used a lush hair mask and am leaving it in for the 72hours many women have recommended then will rinse with tepid water… Am on the FEC-T so not looking forward to the eyelash/brow loss am hoping the cold cap saves a good majority of my hair… A lot of the ladies that used it had a good coverage even towards the end of treatment. So I’m remaining positive ? The staff and people there are so lovely ?

That’s great to hear. Hope you don’t feel too bad after your first chemo.

My hair loss was a little strange. Had the cold cap. My big problem was a lack of scalp oil after chemo. I went from oil hair to very dry hair overnight. It was very long and fine. Although I kept in the conditioner from the cold cap my hair turned into a huge frizzy knotted mess.

I keep saying that hindsight is a wonderful thing. If i could go back to that time I would watch out for that lack of oil and put oils onto my hair. After my first FEC I ended up in bed and then in hospital.

It may be completly different for you (and I hope it is). Just mentioning in case it helps someone.

Hi Lullabelle,

I keep my fingers crossed for you! Perhaps you might like to share your experience on the August starters thread?
