Had my appointment on Wednesday. Apologies for the typo’s (you wouldn’t believe i am a confident secretary during the day!!!)
Well, I am a wee bit confused. The good news is that they said the tests were clear (had 4 FNA’s - as lump was hard to get needle into - and 1st lot of results were inconclusive- have to say the FNA was sore as they had to go into it 4 times, sounds ridiculous and apologies to all you ladies going through harsh treatment, - i don’t know how you all do it - but felt quite traumatised by that part of it. Not to scare anyone as it is and was necessary it was just 4 times and i felt like a piece of meat not knowing what was going on.
I seen the consultant for my results, and even though i am so happy, i am so confused. She said that my mammo was clear, although my ultrasound did show a lump under my nipple - hence the FNA’s. She wants to see me back in the clinic again in 8 weeks time (as my nipple has changed in shape) and to take a note of any changes until the next appointment. She also said that there was a small area of thickening around my breast ducts (in same breast, so she would like me to watch and wait. Sounds silly but i am not sure what thickening is all about and i know the lump wasnt a cyst, just a hard thingy under the nipple.
So am i really clear (i sound like an idiot, my mind is playing tricks at the moment - but am i really clear?) and grateful as i am an idiot!, but on the other hand confused (and worried in case i have 4 FNA’s again on the lump!) at the thought that i have to go through it all over again…(again deep apologies,i am sure many of you would love to be in my shoes)
ps she also said that i had “debris” in the ducts???
Does anyone have a clue?
