Im back again after 3 years ago having a suspected lump that turn out to be a cyst.
The reason im back is that I have now got a Hardening under my left breast and went to the doctors and she examined me and agreed that there was indeed a lumpish/Hardening . she referred me to the Clinic and , i got a phone call the very next day to go in early June. I do also have a mother who got BC 3 years ago .
Now for the confusion bit… When the letter arrived to confirm the appointment it said on it: Breast Sympotmatic (cancer not suspected) - Breast SDHFT… Dose anyone know what this means ?
I also went on to their website and they have have posted the following in regards to the (cancer not suspected bit)
(We are aware of the treatment names on this page can be confusing. This list comes from the Choose and Book system and we are working with them to improve the way they are named)
Im very confused by all this can anyone help…
And thank you in advance to all that help others out on here.
Hi one of the clinic at my hosp is called symptomatic. I was there on fri having a lump in my neck checked. Not sure why everyone else was there but we were all having ultrasounds. Sorry I can’ t be more help. Dx
Just to add this is not the clinic I was sent to when I had my bc diagnosed that was a one stop shop and the people in this clinic did not automatically go and see the consultant. But that could just be my hosptial. Hope I am not confusing you more. Perhaps it would be best to phone the hosp on tuesday or speak to your gp. Dx
Quick search on the internet. It looks like the SDHFT may stand for South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. I’ve seen that abbreviation after other departments in the trust such as dermatology, paediatrics etc. I can’t advise on the other things but the main thing is that you are getting this checked soon.
HI THERE it stands for the South devon health Foundation Trust 2 week wait choose and book system so you will have an urgent referral within 2 weeks time .Hope this helps and answers your question and try not to worry too much ( i know easier said than done ) the waiting is the worst bit .xxxx Julie
