Hi after a routine mammogram I was diagnosed in January this year with dcis. I had a lumpectomy and was told at my follow up appointment that it had all been removed the margin was good but I had to have three weeks radiotherapy as a precaution. This finished mid May. I was told by the oncologist she would see me at the end of July. The week before my appointment I received a letter cancelling my appointment and anew appointment for October. The letter also contained a form for me to have a blood test. I rang the hospital to be told my consultant was on annual leave and her registrar was also going to be away so they wanted me to have a blood test to check all was ok and I was to let them know when the test had been done. I went to have the blood test a couple of weeks ago and I rang the hospital to tell them. I haven’t heard anything and on a recent visit to my gp I asked if he could look at the results. He managed to access them and said they all looked ok but one test was showing as red . I’m not sure what the test was but it started with a c . The reading was 31, it looked like the ok reading should have been between 1 & 28. The gp couldn’t access any previous results so could not compare . I’m worried to death now so am going to call the hospital tomorrow. Maybe I was being a bit nieve but I really thought it was all over till my next a mammogram in Feb next year. Has anyone else had this sort of thing?
Hi santay.
Welcome to the forum.
I hope you manage to speak to someone at the hospital today and that you’re able to get some answers.
It might also help to phone our Helpline to talk things over. They will be able to offer you information and support while you wait for your appointment. The opening times are 9-5 on weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays. The number is 0808 800 6000
Very best wishes
