Constipation after surgery

Hi ladies, what a bloody subject to be doing a thread on, me again and my useles infomation. Many of us ladies following surgery, (yes I know mines not done yet, soon!!!) many of the ladies on here complain of the effect of some of the pain killers have with consipation, especially if you have stitches from a DIEP reconstruction, anyway even if you dont, who wants to be trying to push out a brick!!! Well  Holland and Barrett (no I’m not a health food nutter), sell a tea. Its made by Ideal Health and its called SLIMATEE, (my daughter put me onto it as she knows I get problems and I haven’t even started the painkillers yet, I know not everyone can get to a Holland and Barratt, so dunno if its available online, its quite a pleasent tasting herbal tea, I just have the original but it also come with Green Tea in it, you brew the bag, no milk, suppose you could put a bit of honey in it, but it also has Senna in it, one drunk in the evening, don’t think I’d risk one4 in the morning as well but you could, but I suppose if you were bunged up (what a subject), well one drunk in the evening will bring you morning relief, Its about £4 a box, I’ve got a box to take into hospital with me, just gotta work out how to wipe my bum now!!! Ha my husband likes green tea and said oh I will try one of those, its not just for consipation, anyway he gets the train to work some 45 minute journey, he said sod them I’m not having one of them again, nealry didn’t make it, well blokes don’t suffer in that way like we do. Well hope it helps

Love to all

Sounds like something my daughter took as a quick fix Slimmimg aid - hers was called Bootea!
I got Movical on prescription - a big box for free! Think that’s the only advantage of being a cancer patient I can think of - 5 years free prescriptions! Oh yes plus free hospital parking when I have oncologist appointments, chemo and radiotherapy! Anyway a sachet mixed with water morning and night sorted it for me after surgery (codeine was the issue!) and now the days following chemo.
