Can someone please give me some advice on which contraception is safe to use. I was on the combination pill for about 15 years, but came off it when I was diagnosed in 2005. I am triple negative and can’t seem to get any information from my doctor on what is the safe option with regard to contraception.
Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
I have the mirena coil and after reading about so many ladies being advised to have it removed I asked the BCN this week … she says she does not think it is necessary but is going to double check with the onc.
If you are not getting any constructive advice from your Gp perhaps you would be better to approach your family planning clinic. They were the ones who advised me to go for the coil rather than the implant. ironincally I had been to the GP to ask for the pill only to be told I couldn’t have it as being just turned 40 and a had been smoker it increased my risk of BC … typical I didn’t get the ill but got the BC anyways! At least I didn’t get a baby so I suppose I should be thankful.
I was also on the pill for many years and was told to stop immediately I was diagnosed. My GP’s recommendation is Durex for me Im afraid!!! (or stop having it altogether!)
