Hi @fingerscrossed2 I haven’t heard of this mammogram. I did have an MRI to size my tumour and they found another nd then went on to have a biopsy.

Were you given a number for the Breast Care Nurses in your hospital, if so you can call them and chat it through. From experience they work in clinics so I had to leave a message and a wait to get a reply.

It might be worth a phone call to the BCN nurses to talk this through as they have more time Helpline: 0808 800 6000 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; Sat 9am-1pm). Speak to our trained helpline team. No questions are too big or too small.

It could just be an extra check to get the right information for them to formulate your treatment plan. I can understand why you are concerned as they haven’t explained why.

Hi @fingerscrossed2
I’ve had two of these. They are to get another view of your breast and was used by my consultant prior to surgery. They are really nothing to worry about. You will have a cannula put in to your arm and they will inject a contrast solution which enhances the photos taken. The solution gives a strange taste and you may feel like you need to go to the toilet but this lasts only a few seconds.
Sorry you are going through this and I wish you the best.

Thank you everyone…my BCN called me back today as id left a message yesterday, she said it was normal for them before chemo or surgery and I will have another during and after chemo so they can see exactly at times what is happening…I thinks thats all I wanted a kind of explanation as I was worried it was on the back of mri results…it panicked me that it came by text and no explanation … thanks again everyone, this forum just seems to give a sense of calm to a degree when you need it…xx
