Hi ,I’m 42 yes old with a hyterectomy since 2 yes.I’ve been having pain under my arm pit and back pain…went to Gp she send me for a mammogram which I was thinking positively but when I had it done they call me for a 2nd one after 10 mins before the ultrasound and then after ultrasound they said to me the found a lump on my left breast which I needs to come back for a core biopsy which I had last Tuesday!now the waiting is killing me and my back pain is worst…I just don’t know how I wil cope with the results…
Thanks
Binbin,
I am sorry you find yourself in the “Waiting Room”. I am a few weeks ahead of you, nearing the end of a 3 week wait for post operative results. Time does seem to drag and leave far to much free time to ponder over the situation, but try to partake in as many displacement activites as you can, keep busy, see friends and family.
The worst part is not knowing, but do not search the internet as there is a lot of out of date and incorrect information out there; this site and the McMillan site are very helpful. Your brain will work overtime (my imagination had never been so active!), but the reaility is rarely as bad as I your fears. I would urge you take another person with you for support and another pair of ears, my OH and I remember things differently!
Keep strong, and keep checking these forums. I have found them a constant source of comfort and information. These are dark days, but we will get through them; there are a number of inspirational stories to read when you need a lift.
best wishes,
MM
Hi! I’m in the limbo land of waiting for core biopsy results too. Had the biopsy on 11th and get my results on 25th, so I’m nearly half way through the wait. It’s tough. Sometimes I can be really positive and I’ve found these boards really useful. So many women living with BC. Other times it’s really difficult. I don’t have much patience with my kids at the mo which I feel awful about. Keep yourself busy, and there was a good suggestion of setting yourself something else to do in that timeframe. WE’ve got half term at the mo and the weather’s beautiful so we are in the garden a lot.
Good luck

Hi binbin and monkeychicken,
Sorry that you find yourself in the awful waiting room. It is the worst time of all. I can assure you, that as the others have said, once you’ve had your results and know what’s what, things will get easier.
Sending you big hugs and wishing you luck

Hi ,Just got my result which make me more confused, they said to me my mammogram was grade 3 and the cell from my biopsy was too little couldn’t read a lot so they gave me grade 2.But will have to see the breast clinic Dr and will have mammogram !! I’m so confused anyone could advice or been on same situation?? Please …thanks
Hi Binbin,
I’m so sorry you find yourself in this position, as if you haven’t enough to worry about. Did you get a copy of your path lab report? That should tell you everything. Have you been given a breast care nurse? If so, give her a ring and ask her to explain everything. I can’t see how they know what grade your cancer is from the mammogram - only the biopsy report can tell you that. You definitely need to be asking some questions.
xx
Hi BinBin,
Lola is right, you shouldn’t sit at home wondering what it means, give the clinic a call and ask for clarification. Do think about what you want to know before you call or your next appointment and make a list. That way you will be sure that all your questions will be answered. (I forgot my list and still have some questions too!)

Hi,
I was hoping that my results visit yesterday would put my demons to rest, but even though the results were much better than we (including the surgeon!) anticipated, my questions have just been replaced with another set, and even more concerns! I have decided that we just bungy in and out of the waiting room, riding a rollercoaster of emotions which render us unable to function normally. I just hope we don’t all hit rock bottom at the same time!
Hope you get a swift referral, and you get your treatment plan soon. We apparently will feel more in control then!
Best wishes,
C
