Cornish Liz new

Hi everyone. I’m new here. Trying to navigate my way round this forum as well as breast cancer! I started my chemo on 7th Sept so had 2 cycles now. First one didn’t go well & ended up in hospital for 8 days with severe dehydration. 2nd one is going better but struggling to do anything other than get up to sit on the sofa. Trying out some new anti sickness meds today (prochlorperazine) to see if they do the trick. I have grade 2 invasive with HER 2. Grateful for any advice

Welcome to the forum @cornishliz .You will probably get some good advice and support by joining the September chemo starters thread where there others at the same stage of their treatment

Fingers crossed your second chemo is not as unpleasant as the first .

Thanks, will give that a go - just trying to work out how to join that thread!

Hi CornishLiz, do come and join us on the Sept starters forum. Just click on the little pinky red bit in the linked message there that says “September 2024 chemo starters” and then you should be able to join. I have HER2+ too, grade 3, invasive. I also had a week in hospital in my first round, and am just a few days into my second round now. Come and join us - it’s a very supportive group!

As @ake says click on the pink header and that will take you to the September starters thread . To post on the thread generally click on reply at the very bottom of all the comments

Hi @cornishliz

Welcome to the forum. I’m 17 months post diagnosis and I’m Er+ HER2+ bi lateral invasive cancer, two primary one in each boob, grade 1 and a grade 2. So I can understand how you feel.

As already mentioned the chemo starters group are a fantastic support. There is also a thread for HER2 buddies that is very popular. I’ve only just finished my year of Herceptin and it’s a great support network.

I hope the new anti sickness are working. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
