Cosmetic tattoos after reconstruction

I had a mastectomy and reconstruction in June 2013 and I have seen photos online of breast tattoos on women after mastectomy both with and without reconstruction.  These are often flowers that cover the scar tissue.  I’ve no other tattoos and i’m 58 but I;d like to have one of these tattoos.  My problem is finding a reputable tattooist who is experienced in this type of tattoo - covering scar tissue.

I’m still undergoing targeted chemotherapy as I have secondaries, but my oncologist and surgeon say the tattoos will be fine.

I live in the North West of England and I wondered if anyone has any experience of this type of tattoo?

Thanks,

Jan

Hey janijan I had a mastectomy 2 years ago and a nipple reconstruction nearly a year ago. At this moment in time I am going to the royal free in London to have my tattoo done, on my fifth session, as the skin from your back is much thicker. I live in luton and I know there is a tattooist who has a really good reputation and is well known, and is well respected with fellow tattooist. He was actually on TV doing a tattoo on a breast cancer patient. Can’t remember the name of the shop (think it might be adrenaline) but know it’s on cheapside (that’s the area it’s in) his name is Richard. Maybe he might be able to put you in touch with someone in your area.
Happy hunting good luck with your quest.
